In my accountability post from yesterday I talked about how I have a hard time with habits that do not happen daily.
If I don’t build a habit by doing it every day I have a really hard time making it stick. If I can break the habit down and do a little of it every day it builds so much easier for me.
One of my August habits was to do yoga every day. Realistically I would rather do a longer session 2-3 times a week, but unless I am going to a class where people will hold me accountable I just can’t seem to work that in.
So instead I try to work in smaller daily habits. For August I am going to start off with just a couple poses each morning until I work up to a longer set. After that I will look into doing a longer class once or twice a week. If I can’t make it to class then I at the very least have my daily practice.
For habits that can be broken down into small daily tasks I will be doing this going forward.
My next puzzle is how to tackle the habits that cannot be broken down like weekly or monthly chores. I don’t need to mop every day, but since it doesn’t need to be done super frequently I tend to put it off until it is noticably gross.
Ideas? Leave it in the comments, but I will keep you updated if I figure that one out!
